What is the Teacher Recruitment Fair?

It is an opportunity for individuals seeking teaching positions to meet with those who hire teachers and other certificated candidates, including psychologists, counselors, school nurses, speech language pathologists, audiologists and preschool teachers. Representatives from school districts will be available for a day of focused interaction with candidates. This event will be held in person at the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Office of Education.

What if I miss the registration deadline?

We are sorry you have missed the registration deadline for the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Teacher Recruitment Fair; however, you still have an opportunity to attend the event. You will be able to attend the fair after 10:00 am provided you qualify and verify you are appropriately credentialed.

This recruitment fair is designated for credentialed candidates, including those with a California preliminary, clear, or professional clear teaching credential; a Career Technical Education credential; other certificated candidates, including psychologists, counselors, school nurses, speech language pathologists, audiologists; those who hold a Child Development Teacher Permit; those who will have a credential or permit by fall 2024; and candidates who have a credential from outside of California. You will need to have your credential(s), internship status, or university or teaching program completion date confirmed. You may do so through one of the following:

  • Candidates with a California preliminary, clear or professional clear credential or Career Technical Education credential will need to have a copy of their credentials.
  • Candidates who hold a Child Development Teacher Permit or higher will need to have a copy of their permit.
  • Candidates from outside the State of California will need to have a copy of their out-of-state or out-of-country credentials along with PHOTOCOPIES of your transcripts (evaluated transcripts if educated outside of the USA).
  • Candidates who are not yet credentialed but anticipate completion of a university or teaching program and recommendation for a credential prior to fall 2024, will need to have an appeasement letter from the university or teaching program. Please note that we do have appeasement lists from San Jose State University and Santa Clara University to confirm completion date. Be sure this letter is on university letterhead and includes your full name, expected credential level, type and authorization, in addition to the anticipated completion date.

Please also make sure to have a current resume and a copy of your credential(s) to share or email to the district and charter schools that day. Many districts and charter schools will be holding interviews the day of the fair.

The Teacher Recruitment Event will be held in person at the SCCOE office located at 1290 Ridder Park Drive in San Jose. The event will begin at 9:00am and ends promptly at 2:00pm.
