Engaging Future Global Citizens: Young Cultural Ambassador Program highlights a cultural exchange program. 177 students, parents, and teachers from China visited Ohlone Elementary School (Palo Alto Unified School District), Rolling Hills Middle School (Campbell Union School District), Meyerholz Elementary School (Cupertino Union School District), and Katherine Smith Elementary School (Evergreen School District). This once-in-a-lifetime visit was designed to foster opportunities to share and collaborate around the topics of science, cultural diversity, and multilingualism for students and adults alike. The ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Office of Education (SCCOE) holds an annual one-day student artwork exhibit as part of the National Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month Showcase in April and in support of March's Youth Art Month.​


This year's Art Contest theme is â€‹
Linguistic Bridges: â€‹Our Passport to the World

Guiding Question - How can knowing additional languages help you connect to the world? Show some representative ways languages can be bridges to other cultures or communities.​​

(High School Invitation: Please create a poster to invite your peers to participate in the Seal of Biliteracy. Why does it matter? How does it work? See CDE Poster example.)​


​​Transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade teachers and art program administrators are encouraged to submit 2D (size: up to 11"x17") or 4D (anything created on a computer, digital camera or screen) for selection to exhibit d​uring the showcase. Please submit 1 piece per student with a total of up to 12 submissions per school. Selection of student artwork for the exhibit will be made mid-March after which time teachers or art program administrators and students will be notified of acceptance in the exhibit.

All ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø public/charter schools and after school arts programs are eligible to participate.

We ask that an artist's statement (50​ to 150 words), a digital file of the artwork, and talent release authorization (Sp / Viet) be included with the submission form. Entries will be considered incomplete unless the artist's statement and digital files​ are included at the time of submission. When you are ready to enter your selected student entries, please submit via Student Artwork Submission Form (submissions closed)​â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹.
